Respect in the Workplace On-Line Training Programs

To all state employees:

Today, I am announcing a new initiative aimed at promoting a respectful and civil work environment for the benefit of all employees, and the citizens we serve. This Respect in the Workplace campaign was developed by the Division of Personnel, in cooperation with employees, to remind all of us about the steps that we can take together to ensure a high-quality work environment.

I’m asking all state employees to view one of two “Respect in the Workplace” on-line seminars which underscore our shared values of pride, professionalism and excellence in public service, and offer a series of tools to reinforce those values in our daily work.

Two programs are posted. One is for all employees and one is specifically designed for managers and supervisors. After you have viewed the appropriate program, the final slide will allow you to print a certificate of completion. Please sign and date your certificate and send it to your agency Human Resources office by no later than January 10, 2014.

The Respect in the Workplace campaign will also offer workshops and other resources in collaboration with the Employee Assistance Program. I encourage all state employees to embrace the importance of this initiative, and I thank you once more for all you do for the citizens of New Hampshire.

With every good wish,

Governor Maggie Hassan
